Born
and raised in Zurich, Switzerland, Sandra began modeling and working
on television commercials when she was just 15, but her fascination
with America and its trappings had begun even earlier. Everything that
came from the States always seemed really cool and hip, and even though
she traveled all over Europe and Africa with her parents, the U.S was
still a mystery.
After completing high school, she entered the University of Zurich to
study law, but she quickly decided that a career in the legal profession
wasn't her true passion and that she needed a more creative outlet.
So because of that and her fascination with the United States, Sandra,
who’s fluent in German, Swiss-German, French and English, ventured to
Los Angeles for the first time. She told her mom she was going to stay
for three months to take an English course, but she had a hunch that
she probably wasn’t coming back anytime soon. Although the English course
never panned out - she was already too advanced - a career in the entertainment
business looked promising.
After a successful string ofnational commercials,
she got her first break in the Disney comedy "Encino Man," playing the
cavewoman to Brendan Fraser’s caveman. After that, she began finding
popularity on television with various guest appearances on such shows
as "Lois and Clark," "SeaQuest DSV," and "Highlander." She also starred
in a FOX movie of the week based upon the Marvel comic "Nick Fury: Agent
of S.H.I.E.L.D" as the main villain Andrea Von Strucker, a.k.a. "Viper".
In addition to her burgeoning career in TV she landed the lead role
in the hit film "Mortal Kombat: ANNIHILATION," playing "Sonja Blade."
Sandra enjoyed the action aspects of that project and, since then, finds
herself happily cast in other action roles, including the one for which
most people probably know her, as Lt. Alexandra Jensen on "Pensacola:
Wings of Gold". Since then, other guest appearances on shows such as" N.C.I.S", "Shark", "Commander in Chief" and "C.S.I" along with movie roles, followed, and she
continues to build a successful career in Hollywood.
When she’s not on location or working, Sandra enjoys the outdoors, exercising,
painting, cooking for her loved ones and spending time with her animals.
